Well,  it’s over! I did it. I competed in the competition this weekend and I came 15th :) I am very pleased
This was my first competition and although I was putting a brave face on it I was very nervous
Add to that having to make the first flight of the day, it nearly saw me off!
I want to say thanks to all at the MK heli club – What a great field/venue for an event like this :D
Thanks to Edders, Rob and all their helpers for organising the event and bringing it all together.
Thanks to all the pilots who made me feel very welcome and assured me that I was not the only one who was ****ing their selves ;) especially Mojo, Jackflap, Tolly and the others that I talked to and forgot their names.
Congratulations to Pete on the well deserved victory and an awesome victory flight!
Finally I want to thank Bigbellypopper who called my manouvers  and was nearly as nervous as me :)
Myself and Will47 took the pictures, the rest are in the Gallery

Blackbushe Model show

May 16th, 2010

On Saturday 15th May, Daren and I attended the Blackbushe model air show.

The event was very well organised. Being held at an active airfield the tarmac runway allowed some superb scale and sport models to be flown in a very enthusiastic manor!

The pinnacle of the show was a 60% scale model of a Extra 260 – With 35 servos and 16 batteries!!

Sadly, we didn’t see any rotary wing flying at all, in fact the only helis that we saw all day where full size.

The rest of the photos from our visit are in the Gallery :)

Sunday 25th April

April 28th, 2010

The weather changed this weekend. Spring is upon is and it looks like it will be changeable for a while now. We managed to get some flying done, but sadly no new pictures this week, but we did get some really good ones last week :)

You can see them in the Gallery

Practice for the competition is progressing and the 600 now has a Spartan gyro in control of the tail – very pleased with this gyro on the 50 sized model.
The troublesome Raptor 90 is under repair and I hope to have it back in the air next week ….. but who knows ;)
